From Sky Kim — RTP Founder
"I had Osteochondritis Dissecans, a rare knee condition, since age 7. Despite two knee surgeries, the pain never went away. Standard insoles never worked — they were uncomfortable and made things worse. But when I developed this pad with Sorbothane, everything changed. For the first time, the pain I thought I’d carry forever... was gone. I knew I had to share this with the world."

Some of our favorite reviews. Just some, out of many ;).
So simple and easy, but so effective
I bought these for myself, and while they were being shipped, our son’s soccer coach noticed our 12 yr old son was getting sensitive to some “ankle shock” from the turf.
I put these in his soccer shoes the day of arrival,
and the next day he played about 85% of a 65 minute game, and he scored 6 goals (from his striker position).
He said it felt like “running on something like a trampoline.” He is hooked. They didn’t move or slide at all during his game. He now wants them in his basketball shoes too.

Great heel pad for playing tennis, even walking
"I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for one year. I have used this heel pad for one week during my tennis matches (4 days, 3 hours). The level of pain on my feet was significantly reduced. I am using this heel pad during walks too and I’ve now had two pain-free days! Highly recommended."

Very much worth the money
"I don't really like my foot's being pitched forward at all. The cushioning is very noticeable. I recently suffered a bruised heel and these pads have made it possible to keep playing pickleball. If you need a little extra padding under your foot but don't want to go the full-blown orthotic route, I would suggest you try these. Great value for the dollar.

Best heel pad ever for me
"I have struggled with torn medial meniscus and have always been looking for cushy tennis shoes. I found this heel pad works well with any shoes and greatly relieves my knee pain. Although I cannot elaborate on how it works, this product helped me a lot. I would buy it again.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I know if Heel Pad XC will work for me?
You've got nothing to lose but your pain! If you're not satisfied with Heel Pad XC for any reason, just send it back within 30 days and get a full refund of the product.
Does it help plantar fasciitis?
The heel pad is a lifesaver for those suffering from plantar fasciitis! Our customers have told us that they no longer feel any pain in their heels when going to the bathroom at morning time thanks to this amazing product.
Why protect only the heels and not the whole feet?
For our testers and athletes, the bulky and squishy full insoles were not a good fit. They said it slowed them down when pushing off in any direction because of how soft its cushioning felt on their ball-of feet; we wanted to make an insole with natural responsiveness but still offer complete protection for all joints! Our goal was create an innovative product with all protection needed while still maintaining comfort level over longer periods; we succeeded!
What types of shoes does it work with?
While this product works with most shoes, it doesn't work on certain types of footwear. If you have a pair where the original insole is permanently fixed to your shoe, Heel Pad XC will not work with your shoes. Some footwear requires more force than others to pull out the original insoles so make sure you test with some force to take out the original insoles.
Would it throw off my natural stance/balance?
Our Heel Pad XC is so thin that it does not throw off your natural balance when standing on them and they compress enough to keep you feeling secure like there would be no foreign object underneath your foot! As soon as you take a step, the heel pads quickly go back into their original shape absorbing any shock caused by your next step.
Have the Heel Pad XC's been tested?
The Heel Pad XC has been tested by nurses, servers, professional athletes and weekend warriors alike to withstand the often rigorous activity that they engage in every day while still providing comfort during those long hours on their feet! Not only that, it has been tested by SATRA, a non-profit organization that tests footwear and insoles for some of the most prestigious footwear companies in this world.
Wouldn't it be better to make them thicker for more shock absorption?
If the heel pads are too thick it would throw off your body's natural stance and balance and it would sacrifice your ankle stability. Our Heel Pad XC gives you the best of both worlds by keeping your body's natural stance and preventing shocks from coming up from your heels to your joints.
I'm experiencing some muscle ache. Is this normal?
Yes! The testers who felt muscle aches after using it usually experienced a significant relief from their joint pain and the muscle aches were going away within 7-10 days. For those that didn't have any discomfort at all – they reported feeling the pressure relieved on day 1 of use and haven’t looked back since then.
What is unique to your heel pads compared to other competitors?
Heel Pad XC was developed by a group of athletes who had experienced pain and discomfort in their daily lives. Lab tests alone could only take you so far. We wanted to do our research and testing where the action was happening. Our team at Road to Pro and Sorbothane engineering team was listening closely and taking notes from pro athletes' complaints about the pain in their feet while they trained for hours on end. By eliminating these problem points one by one through innovation combined with over 100 years worth experience from professionals across all industries; Heel Pad XC is born!
Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.3 / 5 from 136 reviews.
I have gone through 4 pairs of KSwiss Hypercourt Supreme 2 shoes and my feet and knees were starting to feel the grind of 3-4 days of tennis a week. Instead of trying to find a new brand of shoes, I decided to give RTP heel pads a try. They are super easy to add to the shoes and they didn't change the feel of the shoe.
My USTA league team qualified for districts and I played 5 doubles matches in 3 days all on hard courts. I had the RTP heel pads on and I imagine they did help since I didn't experience foot, heel, knee "pains" like I had been weeks before trying the RTP heel pads.
I am considering buying a couple more pairs since I rotate shoes and don't want to move the inserts every time.
I do like them - I feel that my feet and legs are less impacted by the hard courts. The pad are sticky and collect whatever debris is in your shoe. I left one with the plastic intact, which I would suggest. Also I did not have to take out the entire foot bed. I just pulled up the heel part.
The heel pad ripped after a few months of usage. Company would not replace because they said it was past the 30 day warranty. Disappointed and wont buy another replacement if this is the quality of the rubber where it will break after a few months. Used it on my tennis shoes for tennis.
The heel pad is getting sticky and the clear film on the top where your sock touches is peeling off. You need to redesign them with a fabric on the top where the sock touches.
Ok- a little background first.
A couple of years ago I developed Achiles tendonitis. That led to PT, heel lifts in my sneakers, calf compression sleeves and a start to overall strength training. I recently came across this heel pad and decided to try it in place of my current heel lifts, even though they were thinner & had a lower profile. The added benefit of the shock absorption intrigued me. It's been a few weeks of a-lot of play & tournaments (pickleball) and I'm feeling good. I have a more natural/balanced stance due to lower profile with no Achilles issues-these are now my go to heel pads/lifts. I would recommend them & I just ordered another pair for new sneakers I ordered.
The heel pads are great, I have them in all my tennis shoes. They are must haves for me. My feet and toes are in love with the grippy socks, no more black & blue toenails.
Thank you so much for your great customer service! Not only did you respond fat you shipped the item fast and I was able to take advantage of it and it’s such a great product!
This review is for customer service not the product. Mistakenly missed the size option when ordering. Wrong size came. I paid $12 to ship and exchange. Offered to pay for another set so one could be sent out immediately and I could avoid waiting another two weeks for correct size. RTP was completely not helpful. Would only give me the option to send mine back. And then wait 2 weeks plus for another set to arrive.
Even if the product is amazing once it arrives I’ll be very weary of ordering from you again.
These have been good at negating the heel pain after playing tennis. I still have some knee pain but even that has been less, maybe it will also disappear after some more time. But they have greatly reduced heel pain and discomfort so I recommend them.
When I use socks, towels and dampeners, I feel the high quality of these things, all these things perfectly serve me in achieving high results in tennis.
Works as described: I don’t feel it in my shoe and my back and joints ache less since adding this shock absorbing insert. Will buy another pair for other shoes just for the convenience of not having to change these out.
Was having a lot of pain in my right knee after playing tennis for a couple of hours. I have played twice with the heal pads in my shoes and no knee pain. Thanks so much and will be buying your product again!!
Still not sure how much these pads are helping me out so far.
I tend to get very sweaty feet when I play, and the last two matches I have played with these pads they have been slipping around in my shoes. This causes me to have to adjust them on multiple changeovers over the course of a match, and I am wondering if I should keep them in.
I followed all the instructions for placing them in my shoes, but these may not be worth it if you tend to get very sweaty feet. I would be open to learning any tips or tricks for keeping them in place over the course of a match.
