TossBuddy Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

The short version

TossBuddy is a tennis practice app. Here is what matters most, before the detail:

The rest of this document explains the whole picture.

Who is responsible for your information

TossBuddy is made by Sky Kim.

If you have a question about your privacy, or you want your information corrected or deleted, email sky@rtptennis.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

Information created by using the app

Information collected automatically

What stays on your phone and never reaches us

This section is the important one, and it is deliberately specific.

Video recordings

When you record a session, the video is written into the app’s own storage on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere. There is no server component that can receive it.

You can share a recording yourself, from the video list in the app, using the standard iPhone share sheet. At that point the video goes wherever you send it, and what happens to it is governed by whichever app or service you chose.

Deleting the app deletes those recordings. Because we never had a copy, we cannot recover one for you.

Camera and microphone

The camera is used to watch your toss. Frames are analysed on your device, in real time, using Apple’s own on-device vision and machine learning frameworks. Those frames are not transmitted and not stored unless you are recording, in which case they go into the video described above.

The microphone is used only while recording, to capture the audio of that recording.

Location

If you allow it, TossBuddy uses your location while you are using the app to show tennis courts near you. That location is used on your device. It is never sent to us and it is not stored in our database.

Searching for courts uses Apple Maps, so those searches are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.

You can turn location off at any time in the iPhone Settings app, and the rest of TossBuddy will keep working.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your card number, your billing address, or any payment detail.

After a purchase, Apple sends our server a digitally signed confirmation. From it we record only what you are entitled to: which product you bought, and for a subscription, when it expires. Apple also tells our server when a subscription renews, lapses, is refunded or is cancelled, so that what the app gives you stays correct.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers, and they only receive what they need to do their job:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks. We will only disclose it otherwise if we are legally required to.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account and its associated records for as long as your account exists.

If you ask us to delete your account, email sky@rtptennis.com and we will delete your account and the practice, social and purchase records attached to it. Some information may remain in routine backups for a short period before it is overwritten.

Anything held only on your phone, including your video recordings, is removed when you delete the app.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, including the right to request a copy of it, the right to have it corrected or erased, and the right to object to how it is used. Email us and we will honour those rights.

Children

TossBuddy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email sky@rtptennis.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
